Jupiter Jubilee was Jumping! - February, 2009

The club hosted a table at Jupiter Jubilee, our town's annual community celebration.  It is a GREEN event, focused on being kind to the environment, and educating area residents on ways to appreciate our local, natural treasures and live green.

Twelve of our members worked at the event split over three shifts. They greeted visitors, introduced them to our club and the many things we do in the community, including our recycling initiatives.

Candy Koester had created an amazing BBQ basket, made up of donations from club members, that was the prize in a raffle we ran.   While everyone sold tickets through out the day, Debbie Nellson has to be the champ.  Toward the end of the event, she picked up and took the basket around the room with a handful of ticket strips.  She then proceeded to make sales to everyone who was still left at the event.  Or, it seemed that way: she sure brought back a lot of dollars!  We raised $140 from the raffle.

The winner of the raffle was Eduardo Lopez of Jupiter.  It was delivered to him by Becky Koblarski within an hour of the drawing.

We also shared our upcoming All You Can Stand-Up fundraising event that takes place on March 20th.  There seemed to be quite a lot of interest from the people we spoke with about it.

We collected information from 20 women & girls who are interested in learning more about the GFWC Jupiter-Tequesta Junior Woman's Club and the Juniorettes.

If you are interested, email us and we will be in touch.

GFWC Jupiter Tequesta Junior Woman’s Club Wins Honors at State Convention

Several of our members recently attended the club's state convention in Orlando. These women were on hand to get to know members from other clubs throughout the state, gather ideas on improving our club and to collect the honors bestowed on us for our efforts.  They brought home 15 distinguished club honors and an individual award.

Mary Ward was tricked into coming to Orlando on that Sunday, where much to her surprise, she was presented with the prestigious Nancy Crawford Leadership Award.  This annual Junior award, initiated at Convention 1993, in honor of Nancy Crawford, then FFWC Director of Junior Clubs, recognizes recognizes one outstanding Junior who has grown and developed as an individual, led others, and helped nurture leadership qualities in others.
